Split tests

Skip this if you just want popups to show. A proof tree assigned to a page is enough.

Use a split test when you want stats, or when you want to randomly pick between proof trees and “none” (no popups).

How it works

Set at least one proof tree, then choose how much percent you want for None — meaning no proof popups. Set None to 0 if you always want a tree. If you just want stats on one tree, use one tree and None at 0%.

If the totals are over 100%, those numbers are treated as weights. Example: None is 50 and two proof trees are 50 each. Each option then has a 50/150 chance of showing (one third, or 33.3%).

Where a split test shows

Same three modes as a proof tree: Selected Pages, Pages in These Categories, or All Except Selected Pages.

For groups of pages (Heating vs AC), pick Pages in These Categories. See Different proof on groups of pages.

If a split test and a proof tree both match a page, the split test takes over.

Stats

Views, link clicks, and form submits. After you start getting stats, click Ignore Certain IPs so your own visits do not count. Click Ignore Current IP Address, then Add.

Conversion % is clicks + form submits over views, including nav clicks.

Caching

Your host’s cache can make a split look stuck. If it randomizes that you do get a popup, you may always see it, not 50/50, because of the cache. If it randomizes that you do not get a popup, you may not see it. Clear the cache in WordPress and it should reset.
